Twikini – Windows Mobile Twitter Application
I had been using another mobile Twitter application and when I flashed my HTC Touch Pro the other day I suddenly couldn’t use it any more. So I went on the hunt for another Twitter application for Windows Mobile (Windows Phone) that supported TwitPic and was fast and easy to do quick posts. I looked at a few and found Twikini.
Not only does it support TwitPic, but it supports URL shortening and themes. It also will set your location via GPS. And it is a native C++ application so it is nice and fast.

Really Storming
Now just as we get a Tornado Warning, the television goes out! Apparently the Hilton uses DirecTV. Drag!
Storming in Galveston
Came down to Galveston today for the Texas APCO Conference. Before leaving Taylor, we hadn’t gotten any rain, although it kept threatening.
Now it is storming something fierce here in Galveston and I found out we did get around half an inch back home – woo-hoo! Remember we are in our 2nd year of drought so any rain is great and more than welcome.

Conserving while travelling
I travel a lot. With that I probably spend 50 or 60 nights a year in hotels. One of the things that I started thinking about was the toiletries in the hotel rooms.
Because I tend only to spend one or two nights in each hotel at at time, I started to wonder about all the soap and shampoo I left behind, partially used. I wondered what happened to it. Did it simply get thrown away?
If you have ever spent a night in a hotel, you know that you probably leave a good amount of soap and shampoo behind, barely used. Well I decided to start taking the partially used toiletries with me and using them from hotel to hotel. Then I simply don’t use the new stuff at the next hotel.
When I worked at Microsoft many years ago they used to have baskets on the receptionist desks for travelers to drop off unused toiletries and then they were donated to shelters and other needy recipients. But I guess some sort of lawsuit occurred and that stopped.
So if you travel, think about taking the shampoo from one hotel and finishing it so you don’t have to open a new one, and leave a whole bunch behind. I bought one of those little plastic soap box things and it works great.
I don’t know if anyone has ever tried to figure out the amount of toiletries that could be saved by doing this, but it has got to be a LOT.
